Sacro / Profano
A series of early music concerts in Florence, Italy

Salon/Sanctuary Concerts of New York City in collaboration with The Synagogue of Florence, NYU Villa La Pietra, The Accademia Bartolomeo Cristofori, The Chiesa di Santa Felicità, Santa Maria Novella, and the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno offers the second season of Sacro/Profano, our early music concerts in The Cradle of the Renaissance – Florence, Italy.

All concerts are free and open to the public. Click here for the festival schedule.

An international roster of artists hailing from Amsterdam, Basel, Cremona, Florence, Milan, New York, and Tel Aviv perform a week of stunning early music concerts in locations of unparalleled historic and artistic resonance. Click here for pictures from last year's festival concerts.

Medieval Florentine songs grace the church where Dante met his beloved Beatrice, early classical masterworks resound on original instruments in the birthplace of the piano, the organ played by Frescobaldi faces the organ played by Galileo's Daughter, and Salon/Sanctuary's own From Ghetto to Cappella program will continue its commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the creation of the world's first ghetto, in a concert presented in the exquisite portico of The Great Synagogue of Florence.

These are just a few of our performances in store for our week in the Tuscan capital.
